"'Stutterstep' is meant to feel uncomfortable," says Corey. "Musically we wanted it to feel like it was starting, then hesitating and then starting again. We wanted to reflect that moment when you know what you need to do, but you stop to think twice because you’ve become so comfortable and change might be too hard. Sometimes that cycle continues for a long time.
"Addiction is a tough thing to step away from, If I’m being honest, I’m still not able to walk away from it one hundred percent. Eventually that catches up to you. you start to let yourself down, you start to let the people you love down."
Formed in 2018, winterforever is a emo/post-hardcore band resulting from three separate projects collapsing simultaneously. The band weaves colorful, but relatable lyrics focused on loss, loneliness and existential dread over foundational rhythms, bright twinkling leads and heavy and powerful bass and drums.
The band has toured across the United States multiple times and has put on notable performances at Treefort Music Fest and Heading East Fest.
winterforever signed with Heading East Records for their last release Home Feels Like A LuxuryHotel, and recently finished recording their follow up due out later this year.
